Fumiaki Kawazoe

Representative lawyer

Fumiaki Kawazoe is a representative lawyer of Y Cube Law Office (since 2021). Previously, he worked for Anderson Mori & Tomotsune, a leading Japanese corporate law firm, for seven years (2014 to 2020). He advises on various tax and corporate matters. He represents taxpayers for many tax disputes. Notable matters include a corporate tax litigation where the Courts ruled that taxation of JPY 5.8 billion pursuant to the Anti-Avoidance Rules for Closely Held Company was illegal (Supreme Court judgment 21 April 2022). As for transactional matters, he has vast experience especially in domestic and global long-term incentive plans on which he has advised many public or private companies.

He is a graduate of Keio University (Bachelor of Commerce, 2010), Hitotsubashi University Law School (J.D., 2012) and Leiden University, International Tax Center Leiden (ITC Leiden, International Tax Law - LL.M., 2018). He is admitted to practice in Japan (2013. Dai-Ichi Tokyo Bar Association).
